Event type: Monthly Meeting
Date: 18th January 2027
Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Venue: Beechwood Community Hall

Michael Smith - The Franklin Expedition of 1845 was a doomed British voyage led by Captain Sir John Franklin seeking to navigate the final unmapped sections of the Northwest Passage in the Canadian Arctic. Captain Francis Crozier joined the expedition after six previous polar expeditions and tried to find a way out of the ice that was threatening the ships. Over 100 men perished. Captain Crozier attempted to lead survivors to find the mainland in 1848 but all perished.

Everyone is welcome to join us for what should be an interesting afternoon with Michael Smith telling us about the bravery of all those on board.
