New members are always welcome at Maidstone Invicta u3a and we want to do our utmost to help you get involved in whatever way you want.
Starting with monthly meetings, you may come along free, in the first instance, to get to know us before joining. You may also participate for one session, as a non-member, in some special interest group activities before joining miu3a..
We have a team of 'Welcomers' who will greet you at a monthly meeting. Our Groups Coordinators are always on hand to give advice about joining any of the special interest groups that you may be interested in.
New members coffee morning
New members come with a wide range of expectations. Some want no more initially than to get to know people, others arrive with ideas to start their own special interest group. Whatever you want, we will do our best to fulfil your needs.
We hold regular coffee mornings for new members to help break the ice and our Committee members are approachable and on hand to help.
Our membership year runs from 1st April through to the end of the following March. Full Membership of Maidstone Invicta u3a is £20 and Associate Membership is £16 and membership will last until the 31st March 2027. This includes access to all Monthly Meetings, access to all study and activity groups, and a subscription to the u3a magazine called ‘Third Age Matters’. This annual fee covers the capitation fee paid to the National Office to cover such things as insurance, media licences, resources, advice, National Conference facilities and workshops. We also pay a fee, per household, to the National Office for the quarterly magazine. The remainder of the fee covers local costs such as printing, postage and room hire for general and committee meetings. It does not subsidise group activities.
